Not only are Palliser one of our favourites, they are one of New Zealand’s top wine brands, mavericks who gambled on taking farmland and turning into vineyards (a mad idea that turned out to be a spot on!). Martinborough is a treasured place at the bottom of the North Island that for many remains largely undiscovered.  It produces just 1% of the nation’s wine, and Palliser Estate is at the top of this elite production.

We will be joined on the night by Sandy Moore, fresh off the plane from New Zealand, to tell us about the history of Palliser Estate, and guide us through the special wines we will be enjoying.  Included are two amazing single-vineyard expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the spectacular  2019 'The Griffin' Methode Traditionalle (which is exclusive in Japan at this event!).

Arrival - 2022 Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc

Course 2 - 2019 The Griffin Methode Traditional Chardonnay Pinot Noir Sparkling w/ Seared Hokkaido Scallop, capsicum, udo shiokara & Yuzu 北海道産帆立の炙り焼き、パプリカ、うどの塩辛、柚子

Course 3 - 2022 Martinborough Riesling  w/ Chilled Sansai & takenoko, sakura cream dip 冷やし山菜と竹の子、桜クリームのディップ

Course 4 - 2021 Om Santi Single Vineyard Chardonnay w/ Manuka smoked Seabream, nanohana, asparagus, dashi butter sauce マヌカスモークした鯛、菜の花、アスパラガス、出汁バターソース

Course 5 - 2021 Hua Nui Single Vineyard  Pinot Noir w/ Roast breast of Duck, confit leg croquettes, glazed onion and kinkan jus 鴨の胸肉のロースト、脚のコンフィのコロッケ、グレイズドオニオンと金柑のジュレ

Sweet - Mango & passionfruit pavlova マンゴーとパッションフルーツのパブロバ

The wines are locked in, and the food is being refined so if Chef Trevor comes up with something cooler it will change.  Those of you who know Chef's cooking know you're in good hands.

Our last dinner was sold out, and this one not to be missed so get in quick to avoid disappointment!
